We are seeking a flexible, enthusiastic person to join the CureHeart project team, which is developing genetic therapies for cardiomyopathy. The postholder will undertake and support CureHeart patient-facing research.

 

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a keen Research Assistant with clinical, or clinical research experience, and experience of qualitative research and working with patients or vulnerable individuals, to work on a project of international significance. The postholder will play a key role in delivery of this project. You will also have the opportunity to co-supervise Masters Student research.

 

The postholder will work with project leads, partners and project managers to deliver study objectives. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: conducting research interviews with patient participants; analysing qualitative and quantitative data; working with clinical teams to ascertain patients for studies and promoting patient study participation; collection of patient data; applying for and maintaining research ethics approvals.

 

The postholder will hold a postgraduate qualification in Genetic/Genomic Counselling, Genomic Medicine, Nursing, or Psychology, and have experience working with patients or vulnerable people. Holding, or being close to completion, of a relevant a PhD/DPhil (Medical Sociology/Social Sciences/Psychology/Genetic counselling/Nursing) is desirable.

 

This is a full-time appointment on a fixed term contract for 2 years, funded by the British Heart Foundation (CureHeart). A part-time appointment will be considered. You will be based in the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. A hybrid arrangement is possible.
